Sea Visions

The Pacific Northwest refreshes my spirit and creative energy. I have always been surrounded by the ever-present salt water, the Evergreen forests and the mountains.  I first began painting portraits of beach rocks and seashells. This segued into painting the personality of the waves.

Alcohol Ink

The Challenge and the Reward

I paint with alcohol inks on yupo, a synthetic paper. The vibrant inks are joyfully unruly. Coaxing and cajoling the inks into fanciful waves, florals and other beguiling shapes is both the challenge and the reward.

Mixed Media

Merging Music and Art

World, Tribal and Celtic music reveal harmonics, pronounced rhythms, and instrumental colors, which I listen for and interpret. Surprisingly, the paintings resemble gardens. Working more intuitively, I push past comfort and predictability, and let this vibrant music direct my process.

Empowering Artistic
Expression

The Vision Story

My vision is to build a bridge between the viewer and the artist.  I strive to affect the viewer’s life and surroundings by creating a meditative or revelatory experience, giving them room for interpretation, and by introducing bold surprises and flowing harmony. When the painting adds vibrancy to the space, when the painting inspires, then my vision is fulfilled.
